Disputably the most cosmopolitan city in North-West Germany, Cologne has a host of Art Galleries, Concert halls, smart restaurants and vibrant night life. The modern ‘Koln Messe’, rebuilt in 2004, hosts an eclectic mix of fairs covering varied categories, from food to surgical dentistry.
The City originally centred around the enormous Dom (cathedral) at the heart of the restored old-town, the start of the millennium saw Cologne really expanding, taking full advantage of its river front. Here you will find a fantastic mix of old and new, with restaurants bars and entertainment to suit every taste… especially if you have a sweet tooth, which you can indulge at the Lindt chocolate museum.
The majority of mooring positions are found on the ‘City side, close to the main town centre and buzzing riverside, with some moored on the opposite side, adjacent to the Trade Fair halls . With a great local transport system, and the option of U-bahn, S-bahn, taxi, bus, Ferry or on foot, travelling to the Trade Fair or into Town is always simple.
